Why is this district banning Tesla?
Can You Imagine a City Without a Tesla (TSLA) – Get Tesla Inc.’s report on the street. Given how prominent they’ve become since Elon Musk first founded the company in 2003, it may seem like a long time past.
But as Reuters previously reported, one district in northern China is making it a reality this summer.
Beidaihe District is banning all Tesla cars from entering its territory for the next two months. It is home to a beach resort in northern Hebei province, bordering the Bohai Sea coast and home to approximately 74 million people.
